Til Schweiger's »Manta Manta – Zwoter Teil« continues the 1991 film – but the screenwriter was passed over. Stefan Cantz, screenwriter of Part One, was not asked, involved or even rewarded in the development of the follow-up film.
Cantz says that his contract from the nineties allows a remake of his book – but not its further development. Now the Munich Regional Court is dealing with the case. The film industry has been discussing working conditions in the German film industry.
