The world's highest elevation poplar forest and the Gobi city of Golmud protect each other.Located on the south-central edge of the Qaidam Basin, Golmud City is subject to wind and sand all year round. The Poplar Forest Nature Reserve was established in May 2000 and has been designated (range) as 4200,425 hectares since its establishment.
The reserve has a total of eight stewards, patrolling them (poplar forest) every day, the main protection (content) is to carry out ecological monitoring.
