Canadian artist The Weeknd has changed his name on social media to the birth name, Abel Tesfaye. The singer, known for songs such as Blinding Lights, asked his fans on his Twitter account last month if he should make that change.
In March 2023, the Guinness Book declared him the most popular artist in the world due to the number of monthly listeners he had on Spotify. The 33-year-old artist had 111.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify and was the first artist to have 100 million monthly viewers on the streaming app.
