The American television world is in mourning. Jerry Springer would have died of pancreatic cancer, diagnosed a few months ago.
He is irreplaceable and his loss is the source of immense pain, but the memories of his intelligence, heart and humor will be remembered. The Jerry Springer Show has so marked Anglo-Saxon popular culture that it inspired a musical, "Jerry Springer: The Opera", successfully performed in London in 2003. The show was not as talked about since the early 2010s, but was still broadcast daily on almost the entire American territory until its final stop in 2018.
