"Grandma's New World" is trying to break the restrictions of the theme and show the possibility of another female role. The grandmother Sun Yuping in the story is a brand new character who never submits to the old, seeks innovation and change.
The play is almost entirely female characters, through the grandmother's travels, women of all ages and social situations can be shown. The aunt and granddaughter Dou Qi carry two completely different outlooks on life, they are like Sherlock Holmes and Watson, peeling back the cocoon.
