British actor Terrence Hardiman has died at the age of 86, according to the agency Scott Marshall Partners. Hardiman experienced his greatest success in the 1990s with the starring role in the CBBC series The Demon Headmaster.

He also appeared in series with Doctor Who, The Crown, Wallander and Prime Suspect. He was a "dear client and a much-loved stage and film actor", the agency said. He is survived by his wife Rowena Cooper and their two children.
