One soldier was killed and several people were wounded on Monday after Israeli strikes in northern Syria, according to Syria's official news agency. Aleppo airport is no longer operational.

Israel rarely comments on strikes it carries out in Syria, but has repeatedly said it will not allow its arch-enemy, Iran, to expand its influence in the war-torn country. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported "extensive material damage at both airports" On 7 March, three people were killed in an Israeli strike at the airport, leading to a traffic disruption.
