Young people should pay attention to their blood vessels, doctors say. They should avoid smoking and drinking too much alcohol, and avoid smoking in the evening. They also should use drugs to lower blood lipids, stabilize plaques and inhibit thrombosis, such as statins, that are too expensive to use in the U.S. and other countries, they say.
