The theme of this year's International Museum Day is "Museums, Sustainability and the Better Life" In 2022, China will add 382 new museums on record, bringing the total number of museums in the country to 6565,3. In the whole year, 4,23 offline exhibitions and nearly 5,78 educational activities were held, 4 million visitors were received, nearly 10,90 online exhibitions and more than <> billion new media views.
Through the continuous improvement of the free opening policy of museums, more than 100% of museums have achieved free opening. At the opening ceremony, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage also announced the list of the most innovative museums in China in 2023.
