The reprocessing plant in Rokkasho Village, Aomori Prefecture, which extracts reusable plutonium and other materials from spent nuclear fuel from nuclear power plants in various regions, passed the inspection of new regulatory standards three years ago. It is currently undergoing an examination for the design of individual equipment in order to obtain the necessary approvals for operation.
