The international jury at the Cannes Film Festival is chaired by Swedish director Ruben Östlund. He wants to conduct the jury work in a more open and democratic way.

He also wants the jury to be aware of how their choice of film affects people. The international jury will select the director who will receive the Palme d'Or, as well as at least six other prizes. The jury will be in Cannes until May 28. The Cannes Film festival is one of the most prestigious film festivals in the world.
