No sane person calls for the development of Islam by deleting one of the five pillars, but it is acceptable in democracy and required more than ever. The goals of democracy are not freedom of expression, freedom of association, independence of the judiciary and the organization of fair elections.
The aim of democracy is the peaceful transfer of power and the rule of law and institutions so that society does not fall victim to a madman or a fool surrounded by gangs of wholesale criminals. It is a mistake to think that it is enough for future Democrats to tolerate private media.
