Revised draft of the Basic Space Plan, which sets out the basic policy for the next 10 years regarding the country's space policy, was finalized. The draft states that "we are facing the most severe and complex security environment in the postwar era" and includes the start of the construction of a "satellite constellation" The plan includes expanding the market size of space equipment and other products to 12 trillion yen in the early 2030s, double from 2020.

It also includes the ability to collect and analyze military trends in the Japan vicinity.
