An 18-meter tree fell and hit the tent at the Niido Campsite in Midori-ku, Sagamihara City. Marina Nakamura (29), an office worker from Musashino City, Tokyo, who was sleeping inside, was killed.
Her 31-year-old husband also suffered serious injuries including a broken chest bone. Police believe that the tree may have withered or caused root rot, and are investigating the cause, and we will also investigate the management status of the tree.
