Bab Ould Cheikh Sidia is a Mauritanian scholar, poet and jurist. He led the reform and renewal movement in Chinguetti and West Africa.

He died in 1924. He is one of the flags and symbols of the Islamic nation, and the owner of a political vision that stems from the centrality of security and stability. He fought the utilitarian Sufi sheikhdom that was prosperous at the time, and demanded that he stop eating people's money, ruqiyyah and religiosity.
