"The Super Mario Bros. Movie," based on Nintendo's classic game, saw a slight increase in theaters in its second release weekend.
The fan-widening game adaptation has now surpassed Marvel's sci-fi suspense action film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania to promote itself to the highest-grossing film of 78 so far. The 14 new films that appeared on the 4th joined hands to rush into the top ten box office in North America over the weekend. All of them had mediocre reputations, and some were dismal.
