The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is a paramilitary organization that believes in the Hindutva faith. Founded in 1925, it was known for its anti-Muslim stance and grew in strength after the victory of India's current ruling party.

The organization has faced bans on three occasions since its inception, following its members' "racist" attitudes towards other minorities in India and their role in "fuelling sectarian violence" The organization receives financial support from Hindus outside India, especially from Indian immigrants in the United States.
