Russia's greatest writer and perennial Nobel Prize-winning Lyudmila Ulitskaya, has been living in exile in Berlin for a year. In SVT's Babel, we meet the author who believes in the power of exile.

"Harsh living conditions have never affected literature. On the contrary, difficult experiences give the authors something to write about," she says. "In Russia, people always live dangerously. Throughout my lifetime, one of my friends has always been in prison," she adds.
