Lucinda Riley's books have sold over 50 million copies globally. All seven books about the seven sisters were on the top 100 list of best-selling paperbacks in Sweden in 2022.

Riley passed away in 2021, at the age of 55, after a couple of years of cancer. Her son Harry Whittaker has written the final eighth installment of the series. The books are about seven adoptive sisters, who after the death of their adoptive father Pa Salt, each get a clue to their respective origins.
