The legendary Soviet and Russian educational program "In the World of Animals" was invented by People's Artist of the USSR Alexander Zguridi. Initially, its releases included stories about animals from the studio, but gradually the format changed: more and more filming of animals in their natural habitat appeared on the air.

Over the entire history of the existence of the program, more than 1 thousand episodes were filmed. The look, along with the legendary cartoon screensaver, a memorable melody and Nikolai Drozdov as the host, acquired in the 1970s.
