Latin Recording Academy will award its Person of the Year award, for the first time, to an Italian artist. Laura Pausini began her career in 1993 and, during her 30-year career, has sold more than 70 million records.

She will be honored during the week of the Latin Grammy, "in a special gala, full of renowned stars, with an emotional tribute concert," says the Academy. "You have made a dream born in a village in Italy become a beautiful reality," she tells her fans.
