A suspicious object wrapped in newspaper was found in the shrubbery of the Central Joint Government Building in Kasumigaseki, Tokyo. The Metropolitan Police Department restricted access to the surrounding area and dispatched an explosive ordnance disposal team.
When they examined the contents, they found stones and other items inside, and there was nothing dangerous. The police department believes that someone left and is investigating the situation at that time. In the run-up to the G7 Hiroshima Summit next month, the police are calling for immediate reporting of suspicious objects found.
