Two earthquakes of magnitude 4.3 and 5.2 occurred on Thursday in the Kamchatka Territory. Epicenter of the earthquake was in the Pacific Ocean, 122 km south-east of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky urban district.

On May 1, the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center reported that seismologists recorded an earthquake of magnitude 5.9 off the islands of the Japanese Ryukyu archipelago. A swarm of earthquakes had been observed on the Shiveluch volcano for several days and a new lava dome was growing.
