A specialized team of Volcanic Speleology has been able to enter one of the main galleries of the system of lava tubes formed by the Cumbre Vieja volcano. The gallery, called "red tube", because of the color of its walls, is located in the most superficial layers of the castings.
The eruption of the volcano, which began in September 2021 and ended in December of the same year, has left solidified lava flows that have created galleries of different sizes.
