"Insect face recognition" technology is being used to monitor crop pests in China. The technology uses a "selfie stick" to take photos of pests on the wheat.

The photos are automatically framed by the intelligent system. The system analyzes the type and number of pests in the background, as well as the occurrence level of pests. At present, the "insect face" database has collected more than 700 million pictures, more than 500 kinds of pest and disease "appearances" covering 29 kinds of crops.
