The family of a Sri Lankan woman who died while detained at an immigration facility in Nagoya City has entered the deliberations of a foreigner in a plenary session of the House of Representatives. A bill to amend the Immigration Control Act to review the way foreigners are detained had been submitted by adults.

The opposition parties criticized the content as inappropriate, and the case of the death of Sri Lanka's Wishma Sandamali overlapped with the bill's consideration. Wishma's two younger sisters agreed to be interviewed.
