A review of Egypt's policy towards Sudan over the past four years reveals a short-term vision, a failure to read developments, and thus a floundering strategy that contributed to the current crisis. Egypt's involvement in the current conflict in Sudan is not surprising, nor should it be, and there was no need for its orbits, as Sudan since the overthrow of former President Omar al-Bashir has become an open arena for all regional and international powers.

The problem was, and still is, how to formulate a strategy of influence and influence so that it does not have adverse repercussions on Egyptian interests.
