A 44-year-old German was run over by a snow groomer on the Hintertux Glacier in the Zillertal and died at the scene of the accident. The snowboarder probably tried to overtake the snow grooming vehicle and got under the chains of the vehicle.
The driver, 45, of the snow grooming vehicle immediately provided first aid, but to no avail. In December 2022, a German woman died after colliding with a caterpillar and the driver was sentenced to six months in prison.
