The 59-year-old pilot was killed in the crash of a glider in northern Hesse. The plane crashed shortly after take-off from the Bad Wildungen airfield from a height of around 100 meters into a field.
The pilot could only be recovered dead and the plane was a total loss. The cause of the accident is still unclear. The investigation into the cause has been launched by the Kassel Public Prosecutor's Office and the Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigations.
