The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported that the French Director-General of Health, Professor Jérôme; Salomon, joins this Monday the management team of the UN agency. WHO says he will serve as Assistant Director- general for Universal Health Coverage and Communicable and Noncommunicable Diseases.
Dr Jeremy Farrar, who headed the UK's Wellcome Trust research foundation, will become the organisation's chief scientist from 8 May. Dr Razia Pendse of the WHO Regional Office for South-East Asia will become new Chief of Staff to the Director- General, replacing Catharina Boehme.
