In February, a girl who was arrested on suspicion of stealing claimed to be another real woman. Osaka Prefectural Police and the prosecutor's office neglected to confirm the procedure.

A lawyer pointed out that the police had apologized to the woman who used her name. The prosecution then filed charges against the woman under her name, and this month the girl's lawyer contacted her to say that her name might be different, and it turned out that she had used a false name. It was a unique case in which the suspect falsified his name and had a certificate of his name, the Osaka District Public Prosecutor's Office said.
