Authorities in France are investigating for attempted murder against a man who allegedly attacked several people with a knife. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz speaks of an "inhuman and despicable act" French Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne said he was a 31-year-old Syrian national.
Two of the injured children are said to be children of tourists from Great Britain and the Netherlands. The background to the crime is still unclear, said the prosecutor of Annecy, Line Bonnet-Mathis.
