Prime Minister Kishida was about to give a speech when explosives were thrown at his feet. Two tubes, believed to be made of metal, were seized from the explosion site. One of the two exploded after the suspect threw it, and the other was believed to have been in his hand when he was seized and did not explode. The suspect, Ryuji Kimura, 24, from Kawanishi City, Hyogo Prefecture, was arrested.
