The exhibition of more than 150 works by Henri Matisse is the first large-scale exhibition in Japan in about 20 years. Of these, Matisse's early work, "Luxury, Silence, and Pleasure," was shown for the first time Japan.

A video shot and recorded in high-definition 4K of the "Rosary Chapel" in Vence, southern France, which was designed and decorated by Matisse, will be shown on a large screen. The exhibition is being held at the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum in Taito-ku, Tokyo from 27 to 8 August.
