A 40-year-old male teacher working at an elementary school in Kita Ward, Sakai City, repeatedly punished second-grade boys in his class for 2 months until February. The children also attended support classes, and when they did not sit down or hit other children, the teacher used corporal punishment as guidance.
The Board of Education has said it will punish the teacher in the future. The teacher said, "It was an unforgivable act that hurt the character of the child, and I deeply regret it and want to make sure that it is never repeated."
