A defendant's lawyer tried to record a criminal trial held at the Osaka District Court on May 5 with an IC recorder. He did not obey the judge's order to leave the court and was handcuffed and forcibly discharged.

In addition, the lawyer is said to have been ordered to pay a fine of 30,3 yen in a procedure called a "sanction trial" for disturbing the order in the courtroom. The lawyer will appeal the sanction trial to the Osaka High Court. The Osaka District court said it will "refrain from commenting on individual cases"
