Just last year, Bohemian Switzerland near Saxony burned for days. Now a small part of the forest was again on fire.
Presumably, the fire was started by a drunk. Police arrested a suspect in connection with the fire. He is being investigated on suspicion of endangering the general public. Some of the emergency services will hold out overnight to prevent a resurgence of embers. Around 1600 hectares of forest were destroyed at the end of July last year. It was assumed to be arson.
