Since 2000, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, together with the Chinese Academy of Sciences and other relevant departments, has completed three national ecological status surveys and assessments. Wang Zhibin said that on the whole, the national ecological situation is stable and improving, the overall ecological pattern is stable, the quality of the ecosystem continues to improve, and the ecosystem service function is constantly enhanced.
The results of previous surveys and evaluations have played an important role in the formulation of major national policies for socio-economic and ecological environmental protection.
