A sumo tournament was held at Izumo Taisha Shrine in Shimane Prefecture. More than 1- to sixth-graders from local elementary schools participated.
Children cheered vigorously with the signal of "Hakkeyo" and engaged in a heated battle. When the winner was decided, the audience cheered and the children applauded. This means that children in grades 4-6 who win the competition will be able to compete in the national competition. The tournament is known as the god of sumo and is related to the "Nomi-shukune"
