An 83-year-old went off the road in Chemnitz with his car and drove onto the sidewalk. There was a kindergarten group on the way.
Seven children between the ages of three and six were hit by the car and injured, two of them seriously. Two kindergarten teachers were slightly injured. Police are now conducting further investigations. According to the current state of knowledge, it is not assumed that the man intentionally drove into the children's group. The accident happened in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
