Justine Triet is only the third woman to win the top prize at the Cannes Film Festival. The Frenchwoman denounced the "sell-out of culture" by the "neoliberal" French government in her acceptance speech.
The decision was made by a jury chaired by last year's winner Ruben Östlund. 21 films competed for the main prize in the 76th Côte d'Azur Festival. This year's Grand Jury Prize was awarded to British director Jonathan Glazer for »The Zone of Interest«
