Canada is getting help in the fight against the devastating forest fires. Massive effects are also noticeable in the neighboring USA – and soon the smoke is likely to reach even Norway.

More than 11,000 people have already been evacuated in the province of Québec, with 4000 more to follow. The smoke from the severe wildfires also led to massive air pollution in numerous cities in the United States. Air pollution bathed the sky above New York's skyline in yellow, shrouded the Statue of Liberty in smog and led to flight delays.
