Algeria, Botswana, Egypt, as well as Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda for a joint nomination, are invited to follow the nomination process. The deadline for member associations to submit their final application is 23 May with all application and hosting documents.
The inspection visits take place between 1 June and 15 July. Namibia withdrew from the race to host it after considering co-hosting with Botswana. Senegal will not be a candidate, but the Minister of Sports, Yankhoba Diatara, had mentioned the idea of entering the race.
