The new Senegalese Minister of Sports, Amadou Ba, has indicated that Senegal wants to host the CAN 2027. However, the country is not part of the list published on April 27 by the Confederation of African Football.
Four nominations have been submitted to CAF: Egypt, Botswana, Algeria, in addition to a joint bid from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania. These countries have until 23 May 2023 to submit their final application. Senegal has only two venues that meet these standards: the Abdoulaye-Wade stadium in Diamniadio, inaugurated in February 2022.
