Antonio Gala was a Spanish writer of the 20th century. Gala died at the age of 80.

He was known for his baroque aesthetics and sharpness. He and interviewer Jesús Quintero had a long friendship. Qu Intero turned their talks into a book, Thirteen Nights, about Gala's life.
