In 2023 it will be 450 years since the foundation of the Real Maestranza de Caballería. It is the oldest equestrian school in Spain and the second in Europe, after Vienna.
Except for the goyesca, bullfights are no longer held in the square, by the way, one of the most visited monuments in Andalusia. Built in 1785, its double arcade is reminiscent of an opera house. It could be said that it is the most elegant bullring in the world.
