Four children, aged eleven months, four, nine and 13 years old, survived first a plane crash and then more than two weeks in the Amazon rainforest. Her mother and two other adults were killed in the plane crash.

Recovery teams found bitten fruit from the jungle at the crash site, which is why they hoped for survivors. The Cessna 206 had already disappeared from the radar on May 1 while flying over the rainforest in Colombia in early May and was located near San José del Guaviare.
