Adèle Haenel announced her withdrawal from the world of cinema for political reasons. The actress, known for her feminist and ecological struggles, had been much more discreet since her sensational exit from the César ceremony in 2020.

"I decided to politicize my stop from cinema to denounce the generalized complacency of the profession vis-à-vis sexual aggressors and more generally, the way in which this milieu collaborates with the deadly racist ecocidal order of the world as it is," she writes.
