Håkan Nesser was acquitted in the district court of three counts of aggravated tax evasion. Prosecutor Anne-Charlotte Boo is appealing the verdict to the Court of Appeal.

She is also appealing the acquittals of Nesser's financial adviser and a third defendant. The background is that he did not report dividends and income from a company registered in Malta between 2013 and 2015, when he moved back to Sweden in 2013 and then changed tax residence. He has always denied any wrongdoing and said the dividends were made on the advice of the financial adviser.
