The report revealed that more than 600 children were tortured and raped by some 165 churchmen over six decades. The list of abusers included priests, seminarians, deacons, teachers and other church workers.

The report included a reference to a deacon confessing to raping more than 100 children, while a priest confessed to chaining the boys to torture them. "We hope that exposing the diocese will lead as far as possible to achieve accountability and possibly prompt victims of attacks by other churches to file legal complaints," said Attorney General Anthony Brown.
